Hi guys! For anyone in New York, aren’t you loving this weather the past few days?! It’s a great motivator to get outside, breathe in the fresh air and move more! Spring is such a great time to get back on the horse. The sunshine and warmer weather means beach season isn’t too far away, either! Find some fun ways to stay active outdoors like biking, jogging, playing tennis, or walking your pet at the local park! Here is a recap made for you of what’s happening in wellness lately so you can stay up to date on current research and emerging science. And just some fun, interesting health based articles too!

NUTRITION TIP
DID YOU KNOW?! You can add frozen cauliflower to smoothies or smoothie bowls to bulk up the fiber and satiety? It’s also great for lowering the sugar content of smoothies, i.e. halving a banana and adding more cauliflower or berries (low sugar fruits). This is also a great boost of Vitamin C!
FRESH FAVES
+ If you’re looking for new ways to spice up your vegetables and boost your intake of plants, try a vegetable spiralizer! Check out the queen of inspiralized vegetables Ali Mafucci – She has a whole blog dedicated to spiralized vegetables and healthier living. Get Inspiralized.
+ If you haven’t tried Kombucha, (you may be saying, what’s that?!) I highly recommend giving this a try. Kombucha is a fermented tea containing live probiotic cultures. Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that boost our gut health and digestion, immunity, and emerging research show it may be beneficial for even mental health, metabolism and weight management! All fermented foods contain these beneficial probiotics – so pop open some Kombucha, or try other fermented products like kefir, miso, tempeh, sauerkraut or kimchi. Look for low sugar varieties of kombucha as some may contain hidden sugar.
GET MOVING
+ Make it a goal this week to try some type of new exercise. Meet yourself where you are – only you know your current capabilities. Try a new spin class, lift weights on a new machine, or even get walking your dog if exercise hasn’t been your thing. Hit the tennis court with your friend, or try a yoga class. Set one new goal this week to try something new – keep it fresh and fun.
RECIPE OF THE WEEK
I have to say my fave recipe this week (which may be a bit biased) is the Golden Turmeric Milk. I love seeing so many of you make the drink to help reduce inflammation, receive a boost of antioxidants and nourish your bod!
