Buckwheat Banana Raisin Bread

Buckwheat Banana Raisin Bread

Banana bread has always been one of my all time favorite treats.  However, many variations are loaded with refined sugar and not so healthy ingredients and oils.  I wanted to create a clean version and I love how easy this is to mix in two bowls and pour into a loaf pan and come back to some amazing and delicious bread.

Ever wonder what chemicals are lurking in your traditional sunscreen? Yes, I know you are concerned for your skin and health while you’re frolicking in the sun on hot summer days, but the stuff you’re slathering on your skin may be doing more harm than good.   (more…)

Dill and Feta Scramble

Dill and Feta Scramble

Eggs are such a nutrition power house full of vitamin A, protein, and fats.  They are so easy in the morning to scramble with some veggies and herbs to create a flavorful dish that will keep you satisfied throughout the morning, without giving you a blood sugar spike that many grab and go breakfasts such as cereal, muffins, and bars do. Spicy Herbed Wild Salmon

Salmon is one of those feel good foods that tastes delicious while knowing you’re doing such an amazing deed for your body and health. It is rich in omega 3 fatty acids that are essential in our diet for optimal function. It’s also packed with protein (17 grams per 3 ounces, which about the size of your palm of your hand).  (more…)

Eating well isn’t the only way to treat your body right.  What you put onto your skin gets directly absorbed into the blood stream in just a matter of time.  Natural products are a great way to treat your body with the respect it deserves while feeling good about it too. I love this Nature’s Gate Fruit Blend Deodorant because it gets the job done and smells wonderful without any of the harsh chemicals found in most deodorant brands.  Nature’s Gate prides itself on sustainable ingredients that neutralize odor-causing bacteria straight at the source. It’s also vegan, paraben and aluminum free, and most ingredients are certified organic.  Leaving it to Nature’s Gate to keep you feeling and smelling fresh will not disappoint, and you can feel amazing and positive about what you are putting on your body every day.

Sweet Potato and Cucumber Mozz Fix

Sweet Potato and Cucumber Mozz Fix

The best thing about sweet potatoes is how great and satisfied they make you feel. I love adding them to breakfast, lunch or dinner to create a balanced plate, but I also enjoy them as snacks because they can really hold you over well until the next meal. This snack is simple to make for that 3 pm slump or easy to pack in your lunch bag for work. (more…)

Apple Cider Vinegar is something I incorporate into my everyday life in many different ways that I’d like to share with you. It really is so powerful, anti-inflammatory, alkalizing (which means it balances your body’s natural equilibrium and pH), and detoxifying. It has also shown in studies to aid in weight loss with 2 added teaspoons per day.  (more…)

Easy Watermelon Mint Chiller

Easy Watermelon Mint Chiller

I can’t think of anything more refreshing than these flavors combined into a light yet delicious slushy, especially as summer is approaching. Watermelon is so refreshing in the summertime especially at a barbecue, or after a long day in the sun or a long run.

The Best Lunch Bowl

The Best Lunch Bowl

This might be one of my favorite lunches ever, and it’s seriously too good and super easy to throw together or bring to work! The amazing creamy texture of avocado blends perfectly with the crisp sautéed garlicky kale and creamy basil pesto hummus. Hard boiled eggs are an excellent source of nutrition with tons of vitamin A and healthy fat, so don’t throw out those yolks! (more…)

Peanut Butter Blondies

Peanut Butter Blondies

I have always been a sucker for baked goods growing up, as nothing can compare to their soft chewy texture and sweet taste. I wanted to create something that would maintain the amazing taste and texture but didn’t have a laundry list of chemical ingredients, trans fats, and refined sugar like most baked goods do. Good ole chickpeas (told you I love them) make up the base of these Blondies and for good reason. (more…)
