I have to say that I love banana in just about any type of smoothie. It adds such a rich creaminess (especially when frozen beforehand) that is hard to achieve with other fruits alone. I really love getting a great dose of plant based protein and high influx of nutrients and antioxidants in the morning or after a great workout to rebuild my muscles.
Smoothies, especially those that include greens, really make you feel great about your fruit and veg intake in one meal and put you in a great place mentally and physically for the rest of the day. My personal favorite plant based protein is Nutiva Hemp Protein powder, which is an organic superfood with no additives, preservatives, or GMOs. Cranberries have an incredibly high antioxidant content along with turmeric, which has been used for thousands of years as a healing spice.
Green Vegan Protein Shake
Serves 1
What you need: a high speed blender
Ingredients:
-1 frozen banana
-1/4 cup frozen cranberries
-3 tbsp. hemp protein powder
-1 cup of baby spinach (organic preferably)
-1/2 tsp. of cinnamon
-1/2 tsp. of turmeric
-1 1/2 cups of unsweetened plant based milk (almond, hemp, cashew, etc.)
Method:
Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender and enjoy!
